To scientifically test the benefits of Ginger, a clinical study was conducted on seven patients with rheumatoid arthritis. These patients had not been helped by conventional drugs. All patients were treated with Ginger. One patient received 50 grams of lightly cooked Ginger per day, while the remaining 6 took either 5 grams of fresh of 0.1 to 1 gram of powered Ginger daily. Despite the difference in dosage, all patients reported substantial improvement, including pain relief, increase in joint mobility, and decrease in swelling and morning stiffness. In a follow-up to this preliminary study, 56 patients were evaluated. Their profile consisted of 28 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 18 with osteoarthritis, and 10 with muscular discomfort who had been taking powdered ginger for periods ranging from 3 months to 2.5 years. Based on clinical observations by physicals, it was reported that 75% of the arthritis patients and 100% of the patients with muscular discomfort experienced relief of pain or swelling.
• Emu Oil contains a variety of fatty acids. Modern research into the properties of Emu Oil has found that the oil is the greatest skin emollient with deep skin penetration properties greater that any other natural oil. During the past decade of clinical use, the benefit of Emu Oil on joints to reduce pain, swelling and stiffness is most evident where the joint is close to the skin surface, such as the hands, feet, knees, elbows and back. Patients given Glucosamine Sulfate experienced lessening, or a disappearance of symptoms during the trial period. No adverse reactions were reported by the patients taking Glucosamine Sulfate. Glucosamine Sulfate was well tolerated and beneficial in 95% of patients studied. An open study was carried out by 252 doctors throughout Portugal to assess the effectiveness and tolerability of Glucosamine Sulfate in the treatment of arthritis. The results from 1,208 patients showed that the symptoms of pain at rest, while standing, while exercising and with limited active and passive movements improved steadily throughout the treatment period. Ninety-five percent of the patients studied benefited from taking Glucosamine Sulfate. (Tapadinhas MJ, etal.
